Bengaluru Namma Metro Green Line is a rapid transit system that serves the city of Bengaluru, India. It is the second longest operational metro network in India after Delhi Metro. It consists of 29 stations that connect Nagasandra in the northwest to Silk Institute in the south. The line passes through the industrial areas of Peenya and Yeshwanthpur, the central hub of Majestic and the southern residential areas of Basavanagudi, Jayanagar and Banashankari. Bengaluru Namma Metro Purple Line is a rapid transit system that serves the city of Bengaluru, India. It is the longest operational metro network in India. It consists of 23 stations that connect Baiyappanahalli in the east to Kengeri in the west. The line passes through the central, eastern and western localities of Bengaluru, including MG Road, Vidhana Soudha, Majestic and Mysore Road. The line also has three interchange stations with other metro lines: MG Road (Pink Line), Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Green Line) and Mysore Road (Orange Line).
The Purple Line is a mix of elevated, at-grade and underground sections, with 17 elevated stations, 1 at-grade station and 5 underground stations. The total length of the line is 25.72 km (15.98 mi). - Carry a valid ticket or smart card. You can buy a ticket or recharge your smart card at the ticket counters or vending machines at the metro stations. You need to swipe your ticket or smart card at the entry and exit gates. You also need to show your ticket or smart card to the metro staff on demand. You can carry luggage up to 15 kg and dimensions of 60 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm2. You may have to pay extra charges for oversized luggage.Charges Rs. 30 for each unit of baggage other than a handbag1. This applies to any bag or luggage that is bigger than the dimensions of 60 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm or that cannot be scanned due to over-sizing.
- Follow the security checks. You need to undergo security checks at the metro stations before entering the platform area. You need to pass your baggage through the X-ray scanner and yourself through the metal detector. You also need to install the Aarogya Setu app on your phone and show your status to the security guards2. You need to cooperate with the security personnel and follow their instructions.
