Mr. Rani follows the journey of Raja (played by Deepak Subramanya), a young man with dreams of becoming a movie hero. Despite his father's wishes for him to pursue a practical career, Raja remains in Bengaluru to chase his passion. An unexpected opportunity arises when he lands a female role in a movie, thanks to a video where he played a female character. Raja becomes Rani and continues to act in more movies, including action films. He falls in love with the heroine, Deepika (played by Parvathy Nair), and the story revolves around how he navigates his dual identity and comes out of Rani's shadow.
