The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Once upon a time, there was a shepherd boy who tended his sheep in a meadow. He was bored one day, so he decided to play a trick on the villagers. He ran down the hill, shouting, "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!"
The villagers came running with their pitchforks and axes, but when they got to the meadow, they saw that there was no wolf. The shepherd boy laughed at them for being so gullible.
The next day, the shepherd boy did the same thing. Again, the villagers came running, but again, there was no wolf. The shepherd boy laughed at them again.
The villagers were starting to get angry. They warned the shepherd boy that if he cried "wolf" one more time, they would not come to his aid.
But the shepherd boy did not listen. The next day, he cried "wolf" again. This time, the villagers ignored him.
Later that day, a real wolf did come to the meadow. The shepherd boy cried for help, but the villagers did not believe him. The wolf attacked the sheep, and the shepherd boy lost his entire flock.
The shepherd boy learned a valuable lesson that day: If you lie too often, people will stop believing you. And when you really need help, they may not be there for you.
